How it works: Signals from this hackamore are strong. The weight of the heel knot causes it to fall instantly when the rein pressure is released and this releases the pressure of the noseband providing an instant reward for a proper response. We make this hackamore for use mainly on the older horse. It is not recommended it for starting or training young colts.

How it works: This hackamore is really comfortable for the horse. It lays flat on the nose and is very soft. It’s designed to be used for warming up in the warmup arena before entering the show pen and it really allows a horse to relax. This hackamore is the mildest of all the hackamores we make and gives slightly less signal than the #HV41 Soft 4 Plait Loping Hackamore.

Chuck Frasier Sidepull #CP40
$271.00Description: The noseband on this sidepull is crafted from firm 3/8″ nylon rope, which is specially designed to ensure it lays correctly from the first ride. The headstall is made of single ply 3/4″ tight-fibered harness leather with a 5/8″ throat latch. This sidepull comes with slot conchos which are the safest and most secure conchos available. You can see the photos on the left for instructions on slot concho removal and application. The buckles on this Chuck Frasier Sidepull #CP40 are stainless steel with the leather below the buckles stitched to keep them in place.
How it works:
Since this sidepull is considered a bitless bridle, it is designed for use on the adult horse and is a great tool to avoid putting pressure on the horse’s mouth while maintaining plenty of control. With the design of this sidepull, the stainless-steel shanks come against the opposite side of the horse’s face with a direct rein pull so the horse starts his turns without leaning. Put your leg on him once the turn is started to teach him to complete the turn without leaning. How it works: This hackamore gives the strongest signal from the pull on the rein of all the hackamores made at Dennis Moreland Tack. The heel knot gives you instant release when the rein pressure is released thereby rewarding the horse instantly for a proper response. We do not recommended this hackamore for riding or training colts but it can be a very good hackamore for those horses that are not very sensitive to the pull.

Grass Hackamore with Reins #HV10
$333.00Description: The Grass Hackamore with Reins is made entirely of one-piece of hand-braided 1/2 inch grass rope. The nose button is covered in hand-braided rawhide and the grass rope is spliced wide at the bottom to give more sidepull action. The hackamore has a 3/4 inch leather headstall with double and stitched browband and a 1/4 inch nylon fiador.
How it works: This hackamore gives a little bit stronger signal on the nose, because of the both the texture and the firmness of the braided rawhide, than a soft rope hackamore. This makes it a particularly good hackamore for loping horses that want to be a little strong in a soft rope hackamore. It’s also great to ride colts with because the reins are spliced widely on the base of the noseband to give more lateral direction when a rein is pulled. It can be used for all types of riding on any horse that works well with a fairly mild signal on its nose.

Fiador #ZR
$21.00Description: Our Fiador #ZR is made of 1/4 inch tan solid braid nylon rope. It comes ready to attach to your hackamore with the fiador knot and jug knot tied. Tie a simple sheet bend knot (the same knot used to tie a rope halter on a horse) to secure it on your horse. To see how to attach it to your hackamore click here.
How it works: The fiador, sometimes known as a Theodore, is a safety device or keeper that is similar to a throatlatch on a bridle but is used on hackamores to make certain a hackamore stays securely on a horse’s head. A horse in a hackamore, that has a fiador, can be ridden, led or tied without the risk of the hackamore being scratched or pulled off.
