Offset D Ring Snaffle Bit #19
$150.00Description: The D rings on this Offset D Ring Snaffle Bit are made of 1/4 inch steel and are 2 1/4 inches in diameter. Mouthpiece #9 is 3/8 inch in diameter and 5 1/8th inches wide with inlaid copper bars to promote salivation. Mouthpiece #42 is 3/16 inch in diameter and 5 /8 inches wide with a gentle twist.
How it works: Because the D rings on this snaffle don’t slide and the area of contact on the mouth is wider than on a ring snaffle this bit gives a stronger, quicker signal than a ring snaffle. The contact on the face from the Ds also helps the horse bring the opposite side of his face through a turn. This is a great bit to ride your colts in.
Although you should always check with show management, this snaffle with mouthpiece #9 is legal in AQHA & NRCHA snaffle bit classes.

Ring Snaffle Bit #17
Price range: $50.00 through $150.00Description: The Ring Snaffle Bit #17 is made of 5/16th inch steel. The rings are 2 3/4 inches in diameter. This snaffle is available with 4 mouthpieces (see picture). All mouthpieces are 5 1/8th inches wide. Mouthpiece #9 has inlaid copper bars to promote salivation.
Snaffle Bit Mouthpiece choices:
#0: This soft rubber mouthpiece is 11/16″ in diameter. This mouthpiece is designed for very sensitive horses. It is soft on the tongue and bars and can be an excellent first mouthpiece for colts.
#9: This steel 2 piece snaffle mouthpiece is 3/8” in diameter. This is a great tool for anyone who wants a quicker and more consistent response when a horse is asked to give his head. Champion trainers including Tarin Rice, Boyd Rice, Gerald Alexander, Robbie Boyce, Matt Koch, Brad Lund, & Bozo Rogers all use and really like the results they get with this snaffle. Some of their comments are: “more feel than any snaffle I’ve ever put in a horse’s mouth”, “best snaffle I’ve ever ridden”, “this snaffle works so well!”, “my colts are going to the futurity in this snaffle”.
#42: The 3/16th inch steel twisted wire is designed for the horse that has become resistant to the plain snaffle and needs a bit of extra signal on the corners of the mouth to respond correctly. This steel bit is especially built at this diameter to prevent it from pinching or grabbing the skin at the sides of the mouth.
#48: The 1/8 inch stainless twisted wire mouthpiece is specifically designed so it will not pull or pinch the corners of the horses mouth like a steel mouthpiece of the same size will. This small diameter combined with the twisted wire will help a horse that is resistant to a pull to respond quickly and correctly.

Double Buckle Curb Strap with Rawhide Ball #CU42
$72.00Description: This eye-catching Double Buckle Curb Strap with Rawhide Ball #CU42 is made of single ply 5/8 inch harness leather that is hand-edged, hand-rubbed, treated with Neatsfoot Oil and hand-rubbed again. Beautiful hand braided rawhide keepers and a ball knot are added to complete the look. The buckles are stainless steel. The leather beneath the buckles is hand sewn together to prevent the buckles from slipping during adjustments.
How it works: The rawhide ball gives a quicker signal than a flat leather curb as it comes in contact with the chin before the leather. The braided rawhide also gives a stronger signal than plain leather because of it’s texture. This curb may be really helpful on a horse that isn’t responding to the pull on the reins as well as it should. The rawhide ball will release very quickly once the tension on the reins is released allowing a reward for the desired response immediately..

Curb Strap with Dog Chain #CU11

How it works: This curb delivers a strong signal and is the strongest of all the chain curbs I make.
