Description: The Straight Breast Collar is made of 1 inch wide harness leather lined with burgundy latigo. I make this breastcollar with a sheepskin lined leather chafe under the ring. The adjustable hold down strap is 3/4 inch wide with a 3/4 inch snap and buckle piece to connect it to the cinch. The tug straps are 3/4 inch wide. The ring, dees, buckles and snap are all beveled stainless steel. The leather is hand edged, hand-rubbed, treated with Neatsfoot Oil and hand-rubbed again. This is a top quality, very versatile, handmade breast collar you will be proud to own!

Slide Ear Headstall with Rawhide & Black Interweave #HS58
$330.00Description: The Slide Ear Headstall with Rawhide & Black Interweave is made of doubled and stitched 5/8 inch race track harness leather lined with oil-tanned lining leather. Beautiful hand braided rawhide ear and cheek pieces with black kangaroo interweave really catch your eye. The stainless steel buckles are beveled and have braided rawhide keepers. The leather beneath the buckles is hand sewn together to keep the buckles from slipping during adjustments. This leather is hand-edged, hand-rubbed, treated with Neatsfoot Oil and hand-rubbed again. The rawhide is treated with rawhide cream.
How it works: Race track harness is a very dense, fine grained leather which makes this headstall strong but flexible. This is the best leather I can buy. The lining leather feels good against your horse’s face. Because the leather is split to the correct thickness before being doubled and stitched this headstall is not thicker than a single ply leather headstall. This makes it more durable and longer lasting than a single ply headstall and it has that good feel in your hands and on the horse. The rawhide and black kangaroo are impeccably braided on the leather.

Basket Stamped Two Buckle Slide Ear Headstall #HS42
$148.00Description: The Basket Stamped Two Buckle Slide Ear Headstall is made of 5/8 inch double and stitched skirting leather. It has a precisely designed slide ear piece that will fit comfortably on any age or size horse. There are two beveled stainless steel adjustment buckles with hand braided rawhide loop keepers. The extra hand stitching just below the buckles prevent them from slipping. Doubled and stitched leather is more durable and longer lasting than single ply leather. The doubled & stitched headstalls are not thicker than single ply so still have that good feel in your hands and on the horse.
Crafting: To make a doubled and stitched basket stamped headstall I take 2 pieces of skirting leather and split them to the correct thicknesses. Next I glue the 2 pieces together and carefully cut the desired shapes. Finally it’s stitched together and stamped.
Doubled and stitched leather is more durable and longer lasting than single ply leather. The doubled & stitched items are not thicker than single ply leather so still have that good feel in your hands and on the horse.

The adjustable hold down strap is doubled and stitched 3/4 inch harness leather with an easily adjustable buckle. Leather is edged, hand-rubbed, treated with Neatsfoot Oil and hand-rubbed again. $145.00Description: The 3/4 Inch Short Cheek Browband Headstall #HS25 is made of heavy single ply harness leather, 3/4 inches wide. The leather has been hand-edged, hand-rubbed, oiled with Neatsfoot Oil and hand-rubbed again. The browband is doubled and stitched. The throatlatch is made of 5/8 inch single ply leather. All the buckles are beveled stainless steel with leather loop keepers. The leather beneath the buckles is hand sewn together to prevent the buckles from slipping which helps make this headstall so nice to adjust to fit different horses. This is a very durable headstall that will last through years of hard use. This is the perfect headstall to ride with any bit and it’s nice enough to go anywhere and look good.
How it works: The cheek pieces on this headstall are shorter than average and shorter than the similar #HS24 headstall. The shorter cheeks assure that the buckle pieces will not get close to the horse’s eyes. This is especially nice on the horse with a small head but works well on any size horse. This headstall is available in 2 sizes (see dropdown). The small horse size has a 33″ crown to fit horses 15 hands and under and the large horse comes with a 36″ crown and is designed to fit horses over 15 hands.
