Eggbutt Snaffle Bit #18
$150.00Description: The Eggbutt Snaffle Bit #18 is made of Stainless Steel. The mouthpiece is 5 1/8 inches wide, slightly bowed and has inlaid copper strips to increase salivation. It is 3/8th inch in diameter at the corners of the mouth and gradually tapers to 1/4 inch in the center.
How it works: When each rein is pulled the eggbutt snaffle bit will give a clearer signal than a ring snaffle because there is a larger area of contact on the corner of the mouth and contact on the opposite side of the face. 8″ Aluminum Shanked Bit #B8
Price range: $199.00 through $228.00Description: The 8″ shanks on this bit are made of aluminum. They are lighter weight than a steel bit which makes this a milder bit than a steel bit. It’s designed so the junction at the mouthpiece and shanks will never pinch a horse.
This bit is available with your choice of 9 mouthpieces. All the mouthpieces are 5 1/8 inches wide (see picture). All except the #0 Mouthpiece are made of steel with inlaid copper strips to promote salivation. The #0 Mouthpiece is made of soft rubber. The #1 Correction Mouthpiece and the #1W Solid Port Mouthpiece are 3/8 inch in diameter, the remainder are 7/16 inch in diameter. Make your selection in the dropdown.

How it works: Bits with aluminum shanks are milder than steel bits because of their light weight. This bit offers the ultimate in feel and control when you need a light touch but want the quick signal the 8 inch shanks provide. This is a nice switch when a horse needs a softer signal than a steel bit and it helps promote relaxation in a tense horse. It’s also great to lope in before showing. Many horses can be ridden continuously in this bit.

Bled Double Buckle Curb Strap #CU30
$45.00Description: The Bled Double Buckle Curb Strap #CU30 is made of 1/2 inch latigo leather that has been bled (braided) in the center. The bled leather has more texture than a flat leather strap. The texture increases the feel of the curb. The buckles and wire loop keepers are stainless steel. The leather under the buckles is hand stitched together to prevent the buckles from slipping out of position.
How it works: This curb has a lot of feel on a young horse without the advanced signal of a chain. It makes a very nice transition curb when you need just a bit more signal than a leather strap but don’t need the strong signal of a chain curb strap. This curb is not legal on a shanked bit in AQHA classes. It does make a great training curb.

Curb Strap with Dog Chain #CU11
$33.00Description: The straps on this Curb Strap with Dog Chain #CU11 are made of two 1/2 inch pieces of harness leather that are hand-edged, hand-rubbed and waxed. A 4 inch piece of chain is attached between the straps. The beveled buckles, dog chain and wire loops are made of stainless steel.
How it works: This curb delivers a strong signal and is the strongest of all the chain curbs I make.

It’s designed so the junction at the mouthpiece and shanks will never pinch a horse. This bit is available with your choice of 4 mouthpieces, all 5 1/8 inches wide (see picture). How it works: The 7″ Aluminum Shank Bit is milder than a steel bit because of its light weight and works well to introduce your colt to a shanked bit from a snaffle or hackamore. This bit allows a soft touch to pull a colt around to teach him to turn and maneuver in a shanked bit. It also works well on many older, finished horses and helps keep them relaxed and light in the face.
