Description: This is a nice mecate to use on your 2 rein bosalita, your snaffle, or to use at home on any hackamore. This Round 3/8″ Nylon Mecate #DMR3, also called a McCarty, is 22 feet long and is made of round 3/8-inch nylon rope. It has a nylon tassel on one end and a latigo popper on the other end. Because of the narrow diameter this is a good rein for smaller hands. The mecate is only available in brown. The tan mecate shown in the picture on the horse is currently unavailable.

Because they are light, but drape so well when a horse is shown on a really loose rein, these are also a favorite with reiners. We make the 7’9″ length for average size horses. These are made of medium weight leather that’s approximately 18 oz. making the reins 9/32nd of an inch thick after they’re stitched together.
