Description: The 3/4 Inch Two Buckle Slide Ear Headstall #HS23 is made of single ply heavy harness leather that is 3/4 inch wide and is designed with teardrop bit ends The sliding ear piece on this headstall is doubled and stitched. The leather is hand-edged, hand-rubbed, oiled with Neatsfoot Oil and hand-rubbed again. The buckles are beveled stainless steel. The leather beneath the buckles is hand sewn together to prevent the buckles from slipping. They’re always right where you need them when you adjust the size of the headstall for another horse.
This headstall is available in 3 sizes (see dropdown). The small horse size has a 28 inch crown and is designed to fit horses under 14 1/2 hands. The average horse size has a 33 inch crown to fit horses approximately 14 1/2 to 15 1/2 hands. The large horse size comes with a 36 inch crown and is designed to fit horses over 15 1/2 hands.
Like the#HS13 5/8 Inch Two Buckle Slide Ear this is a great headstall for any discipline with a shank bit. It comes with your choice of slot conchos, conchos or tie string bit ends (see dropdown).

$114.99Description: The Doubled and Stitched One Buckle Slide Ear Headstall #HS32 is made of 5/8 inch race track harness leather lined with oil-tanned lining leather. Race track harness is a very dense, fine grained leather which makes it strong but flexible. This is the best leather I can buy. The lining leather feels good against your horse’s face. This headstall is hand-edged, hand-rubbed, treated with Neatsfoot Oil and hand-rubbed again. The beveled buckle is stainless steel. How it works: The buckle piece on this headstall is extra short to keep the buckle away from the horse’s eye. This doubled & stitched headstall is not thicker than a single ply leather headstall so has that good feel in your hands and on the horse’s face.
Crafting: To make a doubled and stitched headstall I take the race track harness and the oil-tanned lining leathers and split them to the correct thicknesses. Next I glue the 2 pieces and carefully cut the desired shapes. Finally it’s stitched together. Doubled and stitched leather is more durable and longer lasting than single ply leather and also has a nice eye-catching appearance.

Sliding Gag Bit with Twisted Wire Snaffle #20-42
Price range: $200.00 through $253.00Description: This Dennis Moreland Tack Sliding Gag Bit with Twisted Wire Snaffle #20-42 is built with a center bar on the bit cheeks which limits the movement of the sliding mouthpiece to provide quicker action and instant relief. The hard lay nylon cord allows the bit to slide easily. The cord is attached to a stainless steel buckle which attaches it to adjustable single ply 3/4 inch harness leather cheeks. The twisted wire mouthpiece gives a stronger signal than the common snaffle and is very good to use if your horse has become resistant to giving his nose and/or lowering his head. This snaffle should improve stops in a horse that is trying to run off. This Sliding Gag comes with your choice of a stainless steel twisted wire headstall or, for the more sensitive horse, a 3/4 inch harness leather slide ear headstall or a 3/4 inch browband headstall (see photo).

Easy Stop #ES1
$229.00Description: The Easy Stop #ES1 is a very good piece of tack to use when you want to teach your horse to stop correctly when cued, without having to put pressure on the mouth. Often a horse will show a lot of improvement in it’s stop with just a few rides in the Easy Stop.
The noseband is made of 3/8 inch nylon rope that is specially designed to lay right from the first ride. The headstall is made of 3/4 inch dense, tight-fibered harness leather. The leather has been edged, hand-rubbed, oiled with Neatsfoot Oil and hand-rubbed again. The buckles are stainless steel and the leather beneath the buckles is hand stitched together to prevent the buckles from sliding down as you’re adjusting the headstall. This Easy Stop includes a hand-tied tan 1/4 inch nylon fiador tied to the top of the spoon so it won’t interfere with the reins.

How it works: The Easy Stop noseband will apply pressure on the nose just like a hackamore or bosal. Additionally, the stainless steel Easy Stop spoon will come forward as the reins are pulled and make contact with the horse’s chin, in the space between the 2 jawbones (the intermandibular space). I carefully designed the angle of the Easy Stop spoon to function correctly and lay close enough to the horse’s intermandibular space that it doesn’t apply pressure until the reins are pulled. The edges of the spoon are smooth and have a gentle bevel so there’s nothing sharp touching your horse. This Easy Stop is designed so the spoon doesn’t flip over when there’s not any pressure on the reins.
This is used by top professional cutting, cow horse, reining and barrel horse trainers, among others, and will last through years of use. This is a real good tool to have in your tack room for those times when a horse is not responding as soon as he is being asked to stop. Your horse should be broke to give at the poll and should be flexible both laterally and longitudinally before being ridden with an easy stop.

The Two Piece Snaffle works to give you a smooth, quick and more consistent response when you ask your horse to give its head. This custom designed bit slides easily on the hard lay nylon slide cord made especially for this bit. You will get quick and consistent cues from your reins because of the way the bit slides on the cord. The cord is attached to a stainless steel buckle which attaches it to adjustable single ply 3/4 inch harness leather cheeks. See the diagram at left to visualize this.
