Description: This Texas Style Five Plait Nylon Hackamore Rein #CHR2 is made of very tightly braided, 1/4 inch, solid braid nylon rope. It’s 16 feet long with ring knots at each end. This rope has been heavily waxed to give it more body and stiffness. This is the ideal rein for the horseman who wants a thicker rein in his or her hand with virtually no stretch.

In your choice of 7 feet or 7 feet 9 inches long, these Medium Weight Latigo on Latigo 1/2 Inch Reins are our best selling double & stitched reins for ladies and youth with small hands. Because they are light, but drape so well when a horse is shown on a really loose rein, these are also a favorite with reiners. We make the 7’9″ length for average size horses. The 7′ length works for those who are training the smaller cutting & cow horse colts and for disciplines like ranch sorting where horses are shown gathered up through continuous quick turns. These are made of medium weight leather that’s approximately 18 oz. making the reins 9/32nd of an inch thick after they’re stitched together. $145.00Description: Dennis worked closely with the same tannery for years to find a thicker hide just for these double and stitched reins. Two pieces of heavy (total of 24 oz.) latigo are tightly stitched together to make this rein 3/8” thick. They’re cut 5/8” wide and 7′ long This length works well for training the smaller cutting & cow horse colts and for ranch sorters who keep their horses really gathered up through continuous quick turns.
These are a very heavy rein that allows for superb contact with a horse’s face. Dennis’ heavy weight latigo on latigo double & stitched reins are more pliable than the harness leather on latigo reins #BLH58 but they aren’t too heavy or stiff. If properly cared for, they will last for years. Like all of Dennis’ reins, they are hand edged and rubbed.
