Description: For use on any shank bit, this bit hobble has a beautiful hand braided rawhide ball and hand braided rawhide loop keepers. It is made of 1/2 inch latigo leather and is 5 1/8th inches wide. The latigo leather is edged hand-rubbed and waxed.
Shown on the horse is also the #DMR3 Round 3/8″ Nylon Mecate.

Price range: $451.00 through $566.00Description: The bit has “Buster Welch” style 6 1/2 inch shanks made of high quality 4130 grade steel and overlaid with beautiful hand engraved nickel silver. Four mouthpieces are available (see pictures). How it works: The angle of this shank allows time for the horse to respond to the reins being adjusted (pulled) before the mouthpiece contacts the sides of the mouth, tongue and roof of the mouth and the curb strap makes contact with the chin or vice-versa when the reins are released. This truly is a great little shank! Almost all horses respond to this shank with confidence and contentment. This is a favorite with professional horsemen.

8″ Aluminum Shanked Bit #B8
Price range: $199.00 through $228.00Description: The 8″ shanks on this bit are made of aluminum. They are lighter weight than a steel bit which makes this a milder bit than a steel bit. It’s designed so the junction at the mouthpiece and shanks will never pinch a horse.
This bit is available with your choice of 9 mouthpieces. All the mouthpieces are 5 1/8 inches wide (see picture). All except the #0 Mouthpiece are made of steel with inlaid copper strips to promote salivation. The #0 Mouthpiece is made of soft rubber. The #1 Correction Mouthpiece and the #1W Solid Port Mouthpiece are 3/8 inch in diameter, the remainder are 7/16 inch in diameter. Make your selection in the dropdown.

How it works: Bits with aluminum shanks are milder than steel bits because of their light weight. This bit offers the ultimate in feel and control when you need a light touch but want the quick signal the 8 inch shanks provide. This is a nice switch when a horse needs a softer signal than a steel bit and it helps promote relaxation in a tense horse. It’s also great to lope in before showing. Many horses can be ridden continuously in this bit.

Single Buckle Leather Curb Strap #CU31
$30.00Description: The Single Buckle Leather Curb Strap #CU31 is made of 5/8 inch hand-edged harness leather that has been hand-rubbed, treated with Neatsfoot Oil and hand-rubbed again. The buckle is stainless steel and the leather under the buckle is hand stitched together to prevent the buckle from slipping out of position.
How it works: This is designed for use on a Ring, Offset D or Eggbutt Snaffle Bit. This nice functional curb is built of high quality materials that will hold up through years of hard use. It will not stretch or get limber with use and is easy to adjust.

Ring Snaffle Bit #17
Price range: $50.00 through $150.00Description: The Ring Snaffle Bit #17 is made of 5/16th inch steel. The rings are 2 3/4 inches in diameter. This snaffle is available with 4 mouthpieces (see picture). All mouthpieces are 5 1/8th inches wide. Mouthpiece #9 has inlaid copper bars to promote salivation.
Snaffle Bit Mouthpiece choices:
#0: This soft rubber mouthpiece is 11/16″ in diameter. This mouthpiece is designed for very sensitive horses. It is soft on the tongue and bars and can be an excellent first mouthpiece for colts.
#9: This steel 2 piece snaffle mouthpiece is 3/8” in diameter. This is a great tool for anyone who wants a quicker and more consistent response when a horse is asked to give his head. Champion trainers including Tarin Rice, Boyd Rice, Gerald Alexander, Robbie Boyce, Matt Koch, Brad Lund, & Bozo Rogers all use and really like the results they get with this snaffle. Some of their comments are: “more feel than any snaffle I’ve ever put in a horse’s mouth”, “best snaffle I’ve ever ridden”, “this snaffle works so well!”, “my colts are going to the futurity in this snaffle”.
#42: The 3/16th inch steel twisted wire is designed for the horse that has become resistant to the plain snaffle and needs a bit of extra signal on the corners of the mouth to respond correctly. This steel bit is especially built at this diameter to prevent it from pinching or grabbing the skin at the sides of the mouth.
#48: The 1/8 inch stainless twisted wire mouthpiece is specifically designed so it will not pull or pinch the corners of the horses mouth like a steel mouthpiece of the same size will. This small diameter combined with the twisted wire will help a horse that is resistant to a pull to respond quickly and correctly.
Although you should always check with show management, this snaffle with mouthpiece #9 is legal in AQHA & NRCHA snaffle bit classes. Shown is mouthpiece #9.
