Curb Strap with Flat Chain #CU10
$33.00Description: This Curb Strap with Flat Chain #CU10 is made of an 1/2 inch wide chain attached between two 1/2 inch burgundy latigo leather straps that are hand-edged, hand-rubbed and waxed. The curb can be attached to the bit with the chain flat or with the chain in a twisted position. The beveled buckles, chain and wire loops are all made of stainless steel. This curb is AQHA legal when attached with the chain in the flat position.
How it works: The flat chain gives a stronger signal on the chin when the reins are tightened than any of the leather curbs. If the chain is attached in the twisted position the signal becomes even stronger (but is then not legal in AQHA shows).

7″ Aluminum Shanked Bit #B9
$199.00 – $228.00Price range: $199.00 through $228.00Description: The 7″ shanks on this bit are made of aluminum which makes it lighter weight than a steel bit. It’s designed so the junction at the mouthpiece and shanks will never pinch a horse. This bit is available with your choice of 4 mouthpieces, all 5 1/8 inches wide (see picture). The #0 mouthpiece is made of soft rubber. All others are made of steel with inlaid copper strips to promote salivation. The #1 Correction mouthpiece and the #1W Solid Port mouthpiece are 3/8 inch in diameter, the #2B Medium Port mouthpiece is 7/16 inch in diameter.
This bit comes with the #51 3/8 inch Latigo Leather Bit Hobble with hand braided rawhide keepers, shown here.
How it works: The 7″ Aluminum Shank Bit is milder than a steel bit because of its light weight and works well to introduce your colt to a shanked bit from a snaffle or hackamore. This bit allows a soft touch to pull a colt around to teach him to turn and maneuver in a shanked bit. It also works well on many older, finished horses and helps keep them relaxed and light in the face.
Shown with mouthpiece #2B.

Double Buckle Curb Strap with Rawhide #CU41
$72.00Description: The Double Buckle Curb Strap with Rawhide #CU41 is made of single ply 5/8 inch harness leather that is hand-edged, hand-rubbed, treated with Neatsfoot Oil and hand-rubbed again. Beautiful hand braided rawhide keepers and flat rawhide braid at the chin are added to complete the look. The buckles are stainless steel. The leather beneath the buckles is sewn together to prevent the buckles from slipping during adjustments.
How it works: The braided rawhide at the chin gives a quicker signal than a leather curb. It comes in contact with the chin slightly before the leather. The braided rawhide also gives a stronger signal than plain leather because of it’s texture. This curb may be really helpful on a horse that isn’t responding to the pull on the reins as well as it should with a leather curb. This curb gives a stronger, quicker signal than a leather curb but not as strong as the Double Buckle Curb Strap with Rawhide Ball #CU42.

Bled Double Buckle Curb Strap #CU30
$45.00Description: The Bled Double Buckle Curb Strap #CU30 is made of 1/2 inch latigo leather that has been bled (braided) in the center. The bled leather has more texture than a flat leather strap. The texture increases the feel of the curb. The buckles and wire loop keepers are stainless steel. The leather under the buckles is hand stitched together to prevent the buckles from slipping out of position.
How it works: This curb has a lot of feel on a young horse without the advanced signal of a chain. It makes a very nice transition curb when you need just a bit more signal than a leather strap but don’t need the strong signal of a chain curb strap. This curb is not legal on a shanked bit in AQHA classes. It does make a great training curb.
