Description: This Texas Style Five Plait Nylon Hackamore Rein #CHR2 is made of very tightly braided, 1/4 inch, solid braid nylon rope. It’s 16 feet long with ring knots at each end. This rope has been heavily waxed to give it more body and stiffness. This is the ideal rein for the horseman who wants a thicker rein in his or her hand with virtually no stretch.

1/2″ 6 Strand Mane-Hair Mecate #DK3
$265.00Description: To make this 1/2 inch mecate, six strands of mane-hair are firmly twisted on a horse hair core to 1/2 inch. This mecate, sometimes called a McCarty, is 22 feet long and used on both hackamores and snaffle bits. This 1/2″ 6 Strand Mane-Hair Mecate #DK3 will meet the requirements of even the most discriminating reinsman.
We will be happy to tie this mecate to a bosal if you purchase one but you may need to adjust the number of wraps to fit your horse after you receive it. Rein Stops #ZA
$10.00Description: The Rein Stops are made of harness leather and measure 2 inches in diameter. They will fit any of the leather reins made at Dennis Moreland Tack. Reins Stops are made to go on the bit end of your reins and should be put on at the bit end.
How they work: Use these Reins Stops to prevent the rings on a martingale from getting hung up on the ends of your bit or on the bridle rein ends. This is a very good safety tool for very little investment. Sold by the pair.

$149.00Description: If you’re looking for a very heavy rein with a lot of feel then this harness on latigo double and stitched rein is for you.
Custom cut from harness leather and lined with latigo leather, these reins are 5/8” wide and 7’9” long. The stitching is compressed tightly into the leather. As with all of Dennis’ reins, these are hand edged, rubbed with saddle soap, oiled and saddle soaped again to give the leather a tremendous feel in your hands. Trainers tell us they love these reins for their weight and feel. They will last for years.

This is a longer version of the X reins, averaging 7 1/2 to over 8 feet in length and they are 5/8 inch wide. These reins offer the flexibility of a longer rein without the added weight of the XX, XXX or XXXX reins.
Crafting: These are cut in pairs from the best hides, hand edged, hand rubbed, oiled and hand rubbed again before they’re shipped to you. This tight fibered harness leather will last for years of hard use. These are stamped X on the ends, just like the Dennis Moreland X Reins, the difference is in the length.
