Description: If you like a mecate made of densely braided rope with a lot of feel, this is a good one. The Round 5/8 Inch Nylon Mecate #DMR5 is 22 feet long and is made of round 5/8 inch braid-on-braid nylon rope. This mecate, also known as a McCarty, has a nylon tassel at one end and 5/8 inch leather popper at the opposite end (the rawhide popper and tassel with rawhide button shown in the pictures is unavailable). Latigo on Latigo 5/8″ Reins, Heavy Weight #BLL2
$145.00Description: Dennis worked closely with the same tannery for years to find a thicker hide just for these double and stitched reins. Two pieces of heavy (total of 24 oz.) latigo are tightly stitched together to make this rein 3/8” thick. They’re cut 5/8” wide and 7′ long This length works well for training the smaller cutting & cow horse colts and for ranch sorters who keep their horses really gathered up through continuous quick turns.
These are a very heavy rein that allows for superb contact with a horse’s face. Dennis’ heavy weight latigo on latigo double & stitched reins are more pliable than the harness leather on latigo reins #BLH58 but they aren’t too heavy or stiff. If properly cared for, they will last for years. Like all of Dennis’ reins, they are hand edged and rubbed. The attention to detail and craftsmanship of these reins speaks for itself, we guarantee it.

How they work: Use these Reins Stops to prevent the rings on a martingale from getting hung up on the ends of your bit or on the bridle rein ends. This is a very good safety tool for very little investment. Sold by the pair.
