Description: The Basket Stamped Browband Headstall is made of 3/4 inch double and stitched skirting leather. The buckles on each cheek piece are beveled stainless steel and have hand braided rawhide loop keepers. The extra hand stitching just below each buckle prevents them from slipping. The throatlatch is 5/8 inch leather. Doubled and stitched leather is more durable and longer lasting than single ply leather but not thicker so will still have that good feel in your hands and on the horse.
Crafting: To make a doubled and stitched stamped headstall I take 2 pieces of skirting leather and split them to the correct thicknesses. Next I glue the 2 pieces and carefully cut the desired shapes. Finally it’s stitched together and the basket weave pattern is stamped.
This is a beautiful handmade headstall for all disciplines. Available with your choice of slot concho, concho, or tie string bit ends (see dropdown).

Easy Stop #ES1
$229.00Description: The Easy Stop #ES1 is a very good piece of tack to use when you want to teach your horse to stop correctly when cued, without having to put pressure on the mouth. Often a horse will show a lot of improvement in it’s stop with just a few rides in the Easy Stop.
The noseband is made of 3/8 inch nylon rope that is specially designed to lay right from the first ride. The headstall is made of 3/4 inch dense, tight-fibered harness leather. The leather has been edged, hand-rubbed, oiled with Neatsfoot Oil and hand-rubbed again. The buckles are stainless steel and the leather beneath the buckles is hand stitched together to prevent the buckles from sliding down as you’re adjusting the headstall. This Easy Stop includes a hand-tied tan 1/4 inch nylon fiador tied to the top of the spoon so it won’t interfere with the reins.

How it works: The Easy Stop noseband will apply pressure on the nose just like a hackamore or bosal. Additionally, the stainless steel Easy Stop spoon will come forward as the reins are pulled and make contact with the horse’s chin, in the space between the 2 jawbones (the intermandibular space). I carefully designed the angle of the Easy Stop spoon to function correctly and lay close enough to the horse’s intermandibular space that it doesn’t apply pressure until the reins are pulled. The edges of the spoon are smooth and have a gentle bevel so there’s nothing sharp touching your horse. This Easy Stop is designed so the spoon doesn’t flip over when there’s not any pressure on the reins.
This is used by top professional cutting, cow horse, reining and barrel horse trainers, among others, and will last through years of use. This is a real good tool to have in your tack room for those times when a horse is not responding as soon as he is being asked to stop. Your horse should be broke to give at the poll and should be flexible both laterally and longitudinally before being ridden with an easy stop.

$118.00Description: The 3/4 Inch Two Buckle Slide Ear Headstall #HS23 is made of single ply heavy harness leather that is 3/4 inch wide and is designed with teardrop bit ends The sliding ear piece on this headstall is doubled and stitched. The leather is hand-edged, hand-rubbed, oiled with Neatsfoot Oil and hand-rubbed again. The buckles are beveled stainless steel. The leather beneath the buckles is hand sewn together to prevent the buckles from slipping. They’re always right where you need them when you adjust the size of the headstall for another horse.
This headstall is available in 3 sizes (see dropdown). The small horse size has a 28 inch crown and is designed to fit horses under 14 1/2 hands. The average horse size has a 33 inch crown to fit horses approximately 14 1/2 to 15 1/2 hands. The large horse size comes with a 36 inch crown and is designed to fit horses over 15 1/2 hands.

DM Straight Cinch #10CS
$98.00Description: These hand-tied premium-grade cinches are made of 31 strands of Mohair-blend cinch cord. Most cinches have 27 strands of cord or less. The extra strands allow the pressure to be spread further and also feel better to the horse. It’s just a more comfortable cinch. The carefully hand-crafted buckles are made from round stainless steel rod and have washers on each side of the tongue to hold it straight. Center strap is nylon web with 1 inch stainless steel dees. Price range: $200.00 through $253.00Description: This Dennis Moreland Tack Sliding Gag Bit with Twisted Wire Snaffle #20-42 is built with a center bar on the bit cheeks which limits the movement of the sliding mouthpiece to provide quicker action and instant relief. The hard lay nylon cord allows the bit to slide easily. The cord is attached to a stainless steel buckle which attaches it to adjustable single ply 3/4 inch harness leather cheeks. The twisted wire mouthpiece gives a stronger signal than the common snaffle and is very good to use if your horse has become resistant to giving his nose and/or lowering his head. This snaffle should improve stops in a horse that is trying to run off.
