Description: The Grass Hackamore with Reins is made entirely of one-piece of hand-braided 1/2 inch grass rope. The nose button is covered in hand-braided rawhide and the grass rope is spliced wide at the bottom to give more sidepull action. The hackamore has a 3/4 inch leather headstall with double and stitched browband and a 1/4 inch nylon fiador.
How it works: This hackamore gives a little bit stronger signal on the nose, because of the both the texture and the firmness of the braided rawhide, than a soft rope hackamore. This makes it a particularly good hackamore for loping horses that want to be a little strong in a soft rope hackamore. It’s also great to ride colts with because the reins are spliced widely on the base of the noseband to give more lateral direction when a rein is pulled. It can be used for all types of riding on any horse that works well with a fairly mild signal on its nose.

Fiador #ZR
$21.00Description: Our Fiador #ZR is made of 1/4 inch tan solid braid nylon rope. It comes ready to attach to your hackamore with the fiador knot and jug knot tied. How it works: The fiador, sometimes known as a Theodore, is a safety device or keeper that is similar to a throatlatch on a bridle but is used on hackamores to make certain a hackamore stays securely on a horse’s head. A horse in a hackamore, that has a fiador, can be ridden, led or tied without the risk of the hackamore being scratched or pulled off.

Double Rope Hackamore #HV30

Rein Choice: You can see the reins available in the hackamore rein category. The rein you choose will be tied to the hackamore before we send it.
How it works: The double rope hackamore pulls over a wider area on the bridge of the nose than the #HV20 Single Rope Hackamore. This causes the hackamore to give a slightly softer and milder signal. The weight of the heel knot allows it to fall quickly when the pressure on the reins is released which in turn releases the pressure of the noseband on the face. This series of events happens smoothly and quickly to reward the horse instantly for a proper response. This is a perfect hackamore to start colts in.

Chuck Frasier Sidepull #CP40
$271.00Description: The noseband on this sidepull is crafted from firm 3/8″ nylon rope, which is specially designed to ensure it lays correctly from the first ride. The headstall is made of single ply 3/4″ tight-fibered harness leather with a 5/8″ throat latch. This sidepull comes with slot conchos which are the safest and most secure conchos available. You can see the photos on the left for instructions on slot concho removal and application. The buckles on this Chuck Frasier Sidepull #CP40 are stainless steel with the leather below the buckles stitched to keep them in place.
How it works:
Since this sidepull is considered a bitless bridle, it is designed for use on the adult horse and is a great tool to avoid putting pressure on the horse’s mouth while maintaining plenty of control. With the design of this sidepull, the stainless-steel shanks come against the opposite side of the horse’s face with a direct rein pull so the horse starts his turns without leaning. Put your leg on him once the turn is started to teach him to complete the turn without leaning. Bosalita size: The rawhide used in this 1/2 Inch Bosalita is precisely hand beveled for a smooth finish. The 1/2 inch core is 12 plait and the 7 inch nose button is 20 plait. At 5 inches in width between the hanger buttons this bosalita measures 12 inches from top to bottom (picture at left). This is a top quality, functional bosalita for your 2 rein horse.
Heel Knot: The rawhide heel knot on the Dennis Moreland Bosalita is heavy to give instant release when the pressure on the mecate is released. A special addition to the Dennis Moreland Bosalita is the spacer inside the heel knot, between each side of the core, which gives the mecate enough space to lay correctly. This is a very nice improvement over bosalitas with no spacer.
Hanger: This comes with a 3/8 inch handmade latigo California Style Hanger. The hanger is hand edged, rubbed and waxed.
